Wolfram Alpha search engine now tracks flights

  • by

Feel like you’re living directly under everyone’s flightpath? If you live in the US, it’s now incredibly simple to see who’s soaring over your house, as well as to check when a friend of family member’s flight is set to land, thanks to Wolfram Alpha.

The data-based search engine has just added FAA information on flights in the US, meaning you can enter the number of any given flight to see its take-off and arrival time, accurate to within 5 minutes.

Searching ‘flights overhead’ will reveal all the flights near to your current location, using your web’s IP address. Unfortunately there’s no word on whether this service will be coming to the UK any time soon. Let us know your thoughts on our comments below or via our @Gadget_Helpline Twitter page or Official Facebook group.
