New Super Mario Bros. 2 for Nintendo 3DS Gets Exclusive UK Showing at Games Britannia in Sheffield (July 2-8)

Nintendo’s Unleashed Tour is in full swing across the United Kingdom, demonstrating some of the latest wares in its 3DS range and a chance to go hands-on with some of the exciting line-up of games coming to the portable in the next few months.

One game which players have been eager to get to grips with – and which was recently launched at this year’s E3 Expo in June – is New Super Mario Bros. 2.

Nintendo will finally be shining up its latest golden offering for its first ever UK showing at the Games Britannia event in Sheffield which runs between the 2nd and 8th July.

New Super Mario Bros. 2 continues the classic side-scrolling platform gameplay that many of us remember fondly from our youth on the earliest Nintendo consoles such as 8-bit the NES and the 16-bit SNES. The graphics have of course been vastly improved and the game benefits from the unique extra dimension provided by the 3DS handheld system.

As Nintendo of America Boss Reggie Fils-Aime revealed at the Los Angeles Expo last month, this one’s all about the gold, meaning gold coins play a very important role and paid DLC will be introduced in this sequel to the 2006 DS title. Gadget Helpline covered the little of what is currently known about the game in some detail in a recent article.

Nintendo’s UK promotional onslaught has already hit the Bristol Expo and London Comic Con MCM Expo, and the gaming juggernaut’s appearance next stop in Sheffield will see another of Nintendo’s popular and iconic figures when winged hero Pit returns in Kid Icarus: Uprising. This is just another of the impressive selection of games being demoed at the Games Britannia event starting on Monday.

If you miss Nintendo this time around, you can follow the tour on its official Events page.
