Sony Xperia i1 ‘Honami’ specs leaked with 20.7-megapixel camera and quad-core chip
Sony really are no good at keeping secrets, as just a day after the companies Korean CEO Kenji Sakai revealed that the previously only rumored Sony i1 ‘Honami’ handset would be coming to Korea by the end of the year, does Sony then suffer another leak of the phones specifications.
The Xperia i1 is set to be Sony’s own offering into the new Camera/Smartphone market that has emerged this yea (see Samsung Galaxy S4 Zoom and Nokia 1020) and will see the phone have a focal point of a 20.7-megapixel camera and a 1/2.3-inch image sensor.
Taiwanese website ePrice have leaked the specifications for the handset which reveals some more precise specifications (including the 0.7 addition onto of the previous 20-megapixels) and they state that the Xperia i1’s screen is a 5-inch 1080p display with a Snapdragon 800 quad-core chip whirring away inside. The phone will also come with 2GB of RAM, 16GB of storage (which can be added to with a microSD card) plus a second front 2MP facing cam. It’ll have a big 3,000mAh battery to support the large screen and cam plus 4G LTE and NFC connectivity.
The Xperia branding means the handset will be an Android running smartphone and with Sony’s track record that means we can expect the phone to be sporting the Jelly bean 4.2. OS upon release.
As per our previous expectations ePrice have also confirmed that the handset will show its face at the Berlin IFC event in September and hopefully there Sony will confirm that the Cam/phone will be landing on our European shores as well as parts of Asia.
IFA in Berlin is on form the 6th September to the 11th.
