Sony Tablet P Android 4.0.3 Update Available to Download Now

[tab name=’News’]

It’s a bit later than originally advertised, but if you happen to be the owner of a Sony Tablet P, you’ll be pleased to know that you’ll now be able to upgrade from Honeycomb to Ice Cream Sandwich.

Owners of the Tablet P have been waiting patiently for the update, which was originally scheduled for an April release. Sony then announced that the update would be  delayed and said to consumers that the update wouldn’t be available until the 24th of May. Unfortunately, for whatever reason that date also slipped away as well.

Don’t worry though, Sony has finally announced that the much anticipated update is now available for users to download and enjoy on their Android tablet.

The update to Android 4.0.3 brings with it various improvements and a selection of new features including drag-and-drop folder creation, improved multi-tasking when using the tablet, a more streamlined user interface, an updated browser and also the ability to view files directly from the SD card without a third-party app. Also, another new feature allows users to take panoramic pictures using the camera, a feature that is currently present on a lot of Sony’s XPERIA smartphones.

As the Tablet P is PlayStation certified, and as an extra treat for loyal customers, users will also be able to download a free copy of the game Super Stardust which is available from the PlayStation Store.

Now that the download is available, if you happen to have the Tablet P, hopefully you’ll be getting a notification soon to tell you that the update is ready to apply.
