Galaxy Note and Galaxy Y Join Samsung & O2’s GB Olympic Team!
Last week it was announced that Samsung’s newest super-smartphone – the quad-core Galaxy S3 which comes running Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich, would become the official gadget of the London 2012 Olympics when the games touch down in London this July – offering Great Britain’s (and the rest of the world’s) finest athletes one of the finest smartphones available so far this year. Unfortunately these special gadgets have some exclusive features designed just for the competitors and come NFC enabled so they can pay for their food and drinks quickly and in time to make starters orders. We mere mortals are not privvy to such a prize, but instead we’re being offered a very special pair of Galaxy Note and Galaxy Y handsets!
Now Samsung stable mates the Galaxy Note and Galaxy Y have been given the Team GB treatment and are being offered up by network O2 which included an extra exclusive variant back casing which comes decked out in the Union Flag colours and lets buyers proudly show off their support for our athletes participating in the games. Not only will you support our boys and girls by flashing your Note or Y, Samsung promises to give £1 of every purchase to charities sponsored by our runners, swimmers and beach volleyballers!
Considering the popularity of the Galaxy Note since its release in October of last year (and indeed its continued interest – just about to launch in Pink!) we can see the 5.3-inch smartphone/tablet adding more gold to an already promising Olympics. But be aware stocks of the special edition Team GB back covers are limited so act fast!
O2 customers can also participate in a competition to win tickets to some of the events of the London 2012 Olympic games. More information about this and the gadgets themselves can be found on the new Samsung O2 Team GB webpage.
