Samsung to launch new Galaxy S mini model on October 11th?

Like the Samsung Galaxy SIII but feel it’s just too big for you? Samsung could well have something up its sleeves that’s perfect for you, according to a recently leaked event invite.

The invitation is all in German, with the headline “SO GROSS KANN KLEIN SEIN. UND SO KLEIN KANN GROSS SEIN”. Now our German isn’t exactly great, but we’re pretty sure this translates to:

“So big can be small. And so small can be big”

What is Samsung on about? Is it preparing to launch some sort of shrinking and expanding super gadget? Well, looking at the invite we can see the distinctive ‘S’ logo from its Galaxy S smartphone series, which puts on the right tracks immediately.

We reckon the Korean tech giant is getting ready to launch a new, smaller member of the Galaxy S family, and one that packs a punch. Its Galaxy SIII is very popular, but Samsung comes up against people who just don’t want a phone that big. Perhaps the answer would be something with the power and screen quality of the S3 on a smaller scale, perhaps with a 3.7 or 4-inch display.

The event takes place in Frankfurt, Germany, on the 11th October. It’s strange that we’ve not heard much about this until now, which leads us to believe that the phone won’t be anything in the flagship region of Samsung’s range. Still, a new gadget is a new gadget, and we’re excited nonetheless.
