Samsung Galaxy Tab Wi-Fi only announced

In recent weeks it seems that Samsung have slowed down production of its Samsung Galaxy Tab devices with increasing price drops (now on sale for under £300) and availability becoming more frequent.

But its seems Samsung still feels there are legs in the Galaxy Tab devices, as Samsung has announced that our US cousins will be getting a brand new Wi-Fi-only edition of the 7-inch Samsung Galaxy Tab.

The Samsung Galaxy Tab Wi-Fi only running Android FroYo 2.2

The new 3G-less Android tablet will be available in the US from next week (10th of April) priced at $349 (roughly £215) and will have all the same features as its better connected brother with a 7-inch TFT 1024 x 600 resolution display, Google Android 2.2 OS, a 1.0GHz ARM11 chip, 32GB of internal storage  (expandable to 64GB) and front and back facing cameras.

The original Galaxy tab was released as one of the first Android running tablet devices and was an instant success with consumers with its capabilities and slimmed down (compared to the iPad) size.

Since the Galaxy Tab’s initial release, Samsung has been announcing numerous follow-up devices including the Galaxy Tab 8.9 and the Galaxy Tab 10.1 to hit the market later on this year.

The Wi-Fi only Galaxy Tab was also recently made available for us here in the UK, priced at £299 on Amazon.
