Samsung Galaxy SIII Mini specifications and pictures leaked

Samsung had done a pretty good job keeping the Galaxy SIII Mini a secret, but now that its chief of mobile communications JK Shin has confirmed the phone’s existence, the floodgates have opened.

An image of the unofficial phone has leaked along with specifications over at Mobilegeeks.de, revealing the miniaturised S3 in all its marble white glory. The phone will sport the model number ‘GT-i8190’ and the name ‘Galaxy SIII Mini’, as well as the latest version of Android – 4.1 Jelly Bean.

If the leaked specifications list turns out to be true, the Galaxy SIII Mini looks set to slot in between the mid and top-end phones, with a varying list of specs and features. It’s said to feature a 4-inch Super AMOLED display, 1GB of RAM, 16GB of internal storage with a micro SD card slot, NFC and a 1,500 mAh battery.

In order to keep the price tag low it looks as though Samsung has skimped a bit in the processor department, with the leak suggesting a ST-Ericsson U8420 1GHz dual-core processor will be used. When compared to the might of the S3’s quad-core Exynos chip, this is going to seem pretty slow to the smartphone aficionado.

Elsewhere the Mini is said to pack a 5-megapixel rear camera and a front-facing camera of unknown quality, which we can see located to the left of the Samsung logo on the front of the phone (pictured).

Mobilegeeks claim that its source is “110 per cent” legit, but we’ll need to wait until tomorrow to find out just how kosher this leak is. Samsung will reveal the Galaxy SIII Mini in Germany at around 5pm UK time.
