Porsche Designed BlackBerry P’9981 coming to Harrods in new all black colours

Whilst many BlackBerry fans are counting down to January 30th and the official launch of BlackBerry 10, RIM has again teamed up with Porsche Design to launch a new version of the ludicrously expensive and luxurious BlackBerry P’9981.

Much to the joy of fashionistas, rap stars and other celebrity types around the world, last year RIM launched the BlackBerry P’9981; a luxury BlackBerry with a unique design and £1000+ price tag. To start the new year in style, they’re now launching the phone in all-black through Harrods here in the UK.

Whereas the original was mostly silver with a black back and screen surround, the new model is black all over with a glossy finish around the screen and a matte finish to the keyboard and casing.

If you’re somebody who wants to stand out from the crowd and has the cash to flash, then the black P’9981 is available from today through Harrods for the princely sum of £1390 SIM-free. The original sold out very quickly through the same retailer last year, and they’re expecting a similar rush with the new model so it’s going to be a first come first served basis.

We’ve got to say we prefer the matte black version to the original, but what do you think?
