Palace and London Met Police block celeb tweets at Royal Wedding

The Palace and London Police have slammed the phone down on O2’s plan to get some exclusive tweets from the celebs from inside Westminster Abbey during the Royal Wedding tomorrow.

Disappointed Twitterphiles will to no longer be privy to the insider gossip from their fave personalities as event organisers have arranged for signal blockers to be installed in the Abbey during the nuptials between Wills and Kate.

The tweet ban is backed by the London Metropolitan Police who are involved in the high security surrounding the event and they confirmed this yesterday.

The move is also in the best interest of television broadcasters who will be looking to avoid capturing the awkward moment of a famous face dabbling with an iPhone or getting a call rather than paying attention and looking overjoyed to be witnessing the union.

Expected in attendance are the likes of Sir Elton John and “Posh & Becks Inc.” and O2 had promised that some of the names in attendance would provide the tweeting public with insights into the big day. Tomorrow’s Royal Wedding is set to be a huge social and media event – but now without the social media!
