Official Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 Multiplayer Gameplay Trailer Released

Call of Duty Modern Warfare 3

With less than one week to go until Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 hits shelves, developers Infinity Ward and Sledgehammer Games have treated gamers to a new Multiplayer Gameplay demo video.

The new trailer gives you a behind-the-scenes look at two new multiplayer game modes; Kill Confirmed and Team Defender. Both look pretty awesome if you ask us, and each give a different take on classic multiplayer modes we’ve seen in previous games.

Kill Confirmed

Kill Confirmed is a brand new multiplayer mode that takes a similar style to the classic Team Deathmatch, but adds a new twist to make the game feel completely different. It’s still team based, but you won’t be getting points just for getting a kill. Each player has a dog tag, and once you’ve eliminated an enemy, you need to go and pick up that dog tag in order to both gain player XP and to get your team points.

It’s not just as simple as picking up the tag once you’re done though; if you see a team mate killed then you can beat the enemy to it and pick up their tag to save the points. We can envision this game mode being fast, frantic and at close-quarters. You’re not going to be able to pick up many tags if you’re camping out with a sniper rifle!

Team Defender

Team Defender is a new take on Capture the Flag, which takes into account how long one player can keep hold of the flag. The longer your player holds it, the more points you rack up as you head towards the target points score. If the flag carrier is killed, another player may pick up the flag and continue to rack up the points.

The flag doesn’t appear in the map until the first person is killed, at which point it will appear where the kill was made. Both teams then have to race to the flag and keep it as long as possible, rather than trying to get it to a certain location.

Custom Games

Infinity Ward, Sledgehammer and Activision have also developed a new custom game mode which allows the user to tweak certain aspects of a multiplayer game before starting one with friends.

Perks can be disabled or limited, score limit and time limits can be adjusted to suit, as can options such as respawn delay, radar on/off, killstreaks and custom classes. You’ll even be able to turn headshot only mode on if you really want to make things challenging.

Players’ custom games can be shared with friends using the new Call of Duty ELITE online and social hub. Once you’ve created a custom game you can share it via the ELITE site, and your friends and online acquaintances can instantly hop into a game using your settings.

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 is out on November 8th, with stores up and down the country opening at midnight on the 7th to meet gamer’s needs. You can check out the official trailer below to see the new multiplayer modes in action.
