Nokia Lumia Windows Phone 8 Prototype Leaked?

With Microsoft’s Windows Phone 8 OS now slowly approaching it would seem that its number one supporter Nokia has been working away on a new WP8-sporting handset, which according to Chinese tech site WPDanghas leaked out into the open.

Nokia has all but confirmed that it will be launching a new range of handsets for the new OS, so the leak could be one of their first phones. The two images show off a very Lumia-style handset (square design with curved edges, bright colours) and suggest that they are prototypes for the Windows Phone 8 or Windows Phone 7.8 OS.

As per usual there are many leaked handsets in the run up to a big software and hardware release, but this handset has a few markings of an official prototype including the proto.nokia.com label that was seen on the leaked Lumia 710 and Lumia 800 handsets.

Additionally, the general design aspects that bring the phones in line with the Lumia range of smartphones which take their colours from the CMYK colour group (Cyan-Magenta-Yellow-Black) – three of which already exist with the Lumia 800 range.

Yesterday Bloomberg reported that Nokia has plans to announce two new smartphones running on Windows Phone 8 on September 5th, at its annual Nokia World event so this is when we could see the above handset?
