Motorola XOOM 2 Tablet advert leaks in Carphone Warehouse ad

Well, well, well. What do we have here? It appears that Carphone Warehouse Ireland just couldn’t wait for Motorola’s official announcement, and have leaked the forthcoming XOOM 2 tablet early.

The image above shows an advert for the new Android tablet which will be selling at Carphone Warehouse stores in the UK, Ireland and Europe before Christmas. It seems somebody has snapped the page from a brochure which is dubbed “The House – November 2011” (look top right corner of the page). This just so happens to be Carphone Warehouse’s in-store brochure, so we should be expecting Motorola to announce the XOOM 2 officially this month sometime.

We’ve seen the Motorola XOOM 2 leak before in blurry online pictures. We know that it will be slightly smaller than the original XOOM, with a screen size of 8.2-inches. The design shares aspects with Moto’s latest smartphone – the Droid RAZR – especially those angled corners.

The Carphone Warehouse believes the XOOM 2 is “everything a tablet should be”, though it will hit shelves running Android Honeycomb 3.2, not the very latest Android 4.0 – Ice Cream Sandwich.

Still, specifications are expected to be impressive with a Dual-Core 1.2GHz processor on board with 1GB of RAM to back it up for speed. The rear camera is also said to be capable of capturing Full HD 1080p video and 5-Megapixel still images.

Carphone Warehouse’s advert confirms for us that the entry level 16GB model with Wi-Fi connectivity will cost €399.

We’ll bring you the latest on this tablet as soon as we get it. Are you considering buying one already?
