Motorola Backflip Coming to the UK

The Gadget Helpline’s partner Mobiles.co.uk have put the Motorola Backflip up on its site, indicating that the handset will hopefully be making its way to UK shores very soon.

Way back in January we first saw the handset when it was announced at CES 2010, and if the site is anything to go by, mobiles.co.uk should be among the UK retailers offering it shortly. The Android based Backflip has been around in the US for a few months now, and we’re sure UK Motorola fans will be happy to see the handset online in the UK.

Motorola have been hoping that the handset would be brought to the UK, as it has been very successful in the US, German and Italian markets already. It seems that finally UK operators are willing to offer the handset, but there isn’t any indication yet as to which network(s) will be offering it.

After the success of the Motorola Milestone XT720 earlier this year, the Backflip should show similar success with the handset being similar, yet packing some innovative design and features of its own.

The Backflip features a second touchscreen panel underneath the primary touchscreen, giving the user the ability to navigate around the screen using the secondary screen as a trackpad. The trackpad is revealed when you flip the Qwerty keyboard back into place, hence the name Backflip. All the usual specs are there, including Bluetooth 2.0, Wi-Fi, 5 Megapixel Camera with LED Flash and Android 1.5 with Motoblur OS.

Mobiles.co.uk have also leaked the HTC Desire HD and Desire Z ahead of their official announcements, meaning hopefully all 3 will be released very shortly.

With Mobiles.co.uk being a partner of The Gadget Helpline, purchasing any of these handsets from Mobiles.co.uk will get you 30 days of Technical Support absolutely free with us. So fear not if you want one of these snazzy new handsets but worry you’ll be bashing your head against a wall trying to set it up, because we’re on the end of the phone to help you out.
