Leaked photos of Samsung Galaxy Tab S show Galaxy S5-like 10.5-inch tablet

Samsung’s 10.5-inch Galaxy Tab S has appeared in two leaked photos; on an aesthetic level it looks more than a little bit like the Galaxy TabPRO10.1 that Samsung released earlier this year perhaps with a hint of the Galaxy S5 flagship smartphone style about it.

SamMobile is to thank for this latest leak, both images were posted following a spec dump revealed earlier this week. This previous leak suggested that the Galaxy Tab S will feature four tablets in either 8.4-inch or 10.5-inch sizes. Each tablet rumoured to have a WQXGA 2560×1600-pixel resolution AMOLED display instead of an LCD.

The tablets will also include an embedded fingerprint sensor in their home buttons, a feature available in the Samsung S5 which actually works surprisingly well. This will be the first tablet to feature the fingerprint scanner, although on the newly-leaked images the home button looks pretty normal, so whether it really will boast a fingerprint sensor is yet to be seen.

Other Galaxy Tab S features include an Octa-core Exynos 5 SoC, 3GB of RAM, 8 MP rear-facing camera sensor with 1080p Full HD video recording, 2.1 MP front- facing camera, IR blaster, MicroUSB 2.0 port, and support for Wi-Fi, Wi-Fi Direct, DLNA, Wi-Fi hotspot, Bluetooth 4.0 LE, GPS, and GLONASS and Android 4.4.2 KitKat.

The leaked images also show two dots on the rear of the tablet, these are supposedly proprietary connectors for Samsung’s book cover. That’s entirely new functionality. Also, it looks like Samsung’s Magazine UX will be made available.

And finally, the Galaxy Tab S tablets will have Wi-Fi or LTE connectivity. They’ll also launch with a perforated-material design in two colour options: Shimmer White and Titanium Grey. Samsung are still silent on any actual plans to release the Galaxy Tab S line. So it could be a bit of a wait.
