Source claims Apple supply chain ships iPad 3 parts this December – also full inventory reboot in 2012?

Here’s another Apple tease from the Taiwanese – a ‘source close to’ the company’s supply chain claims that 2012 will see the completion of an inventory wide refresh which began with the recent reboot of the iPhone 4.

According to the speculator, we’ll be seeing a new MacBook Air and iMac, as well as a much-desired 3rd gen tablet – the iPad 3. Flat panel modules and LED light bars for two iPad prototypes, codenamed J1 and J2 have been talked of and TPK Holdings is said to begin to providing touch panels to Apple in November. with the source suggesting that the key parts and component orders will be processed by December ready for mass production in early 2012 and roll out in the second half of the year.

The MacBook Air and iMac only just got a major makeovers over the past 2 years, so we’d say any update there would be minor, but confidence is high and speculation a-buzz for a sighting of new iPad 3 and the iPhone 5 that we very almost saw last month, only to be underwhelmed by the iPhone 4S. File under rumour.
