HTC Kingdom set to be announced with the Omega and Eternity?

The HTC event is now just a week away and numerous rumours are flying about as to what the Event is going to reveal and whilst it is generally accepted that HTC will launch a new range of Windows Phone 7 OS handsets.

But word is that along with the WP7 handsets HTC will also be using the event to launch a few Android OS running handsets in the form of the HTC Kingdom which is currently the codename for a handset that itself will get different names depending on the region release.

The Kingdom, A.k.a the HTC EVO Design 4G on US network Sprint or the HTC Acquire on another US network Alltel. At its base the HTC Kingdom will be an Android 2.3.4 Gingerbread sporting smartphone with a large 4-inch qHD display and has a 1.2 GHZ Snapdragon S2 (MSM7x30) processor powering the large screen.

The handsets may also come packing 768 MB of RAM, a 5-megapixel rear camera, 1.3-megapixel front-facing camera, Bluetooth 3.0, Wi-Fi b/g/n, and support for HSPA+ networks.

Now the Kingdom is far from official and we are not sure if we will see the phone next week at the HTC event but what we are sure of is the release of two HTC Windows Phone 7 devices.

Backing one of our speculations, it’s confirmed that the Microsoft mobile operating system will be represented at the evening by the Omega, which will feature Microsoft’s WP7 ‘Mango’ update said to be displayed on a generous 3.8” 800 x 480 screen. The Omega is also rumoured to carry a 1.5GHz processor at its core, with 512MB RAM with an additional 16GB internal storage, as well as 8-megapixel camera – to be launched initially through T-Mobile (in the States at least).

Along for the evening out in London will be the HTC Eternity, also a 1.5GHz with ‘Mango’ model, rocking a massive 4.7” display.

The full and confirmed details of both these Windows Phone 7 handsets will be revealed on Thursday, September 1st at the London event, which can be attended by visiting the HTC UK Facebook Event page and making your RSVP known.
