HTC’s plans for office expansion in Seattle, WA. – Big presence set for Microsoft’s ‘Neighbourhood’
“Good Morning Neighbour!”
That will be the cry from HTC’s Washington presence following plans to expand the Taiwanese tech co.’s 140,000 square feet office space, bringing the huge ideas and design centre to Seattle – close to the home of Microsoft which is based only 15 miles (24km) down the road.
Closer to Microsoft HQ but currently based in Bellevue, WA., HTC’s work force there currently stands at only two hundred personnel but the move of premises from a 60,000 square feet office space up to a whopping 200,000 downtown Seattle workplace will require a staff increase – but for what role is unspecified. They could just be taking a page out of Google’s book and following the example set by the internet giant’s Zurich branch installing slides to the office and a fireman’s pole to the lunch room!
We think the more feasible answer for the beef-up of office space and the moving no further than Seattle is clearly to focus on the Windows Phone partnership with Microsoft, which should lead to some interesting and exciting new output including new handsets such as the ‘Mango’-packing HTC Titan and Radar.
