With the official announcement of Google’s next Android made and version 4.1 Jelly Bean heading onto our gadgets starting as soon as next month, multimedia and entertainment content through Google Play will also be bolstered with some sweet new additions hitting the virtual shop shelves in support of the new mobile OS.

News from yesterday’s annual Google I/O Developer’s Conference reveals that now, not only will the former Android Market feature the already impressive array of apps, games, music, books and movie rentals, but it’ll introduce full movie downloads, individual television show episodes and magazine subscriptions.

You’ll be able to pick up just one, or choose to have a regular edition delivered straight to your digital doorstep on future Android 4.1 Jelly Bean host devices such as the Samsung Galaxy Note II or the Google Nexus 7 tablet, as well as current Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich and 2.3 Gingerbread gadgets.

The Android Market became the Google Play store back in March with a new look and new range of products which really lived up to its name, delivering multimedia content to the widely distributed Android platform. This news brings Google’s line-up a little closer to what Apple offers on its iTunes Store, and is a real treat for its faithful.
