Google Offering 25 Top Notch Android Apps for 49p to Celebrate Google Play Launch

To celebrate the launch of Google Play, the company has decided to offer 25 brilliant apps to everyone for just 49p a pop. There are some great apps available and some big savings to be had.

The selection includes a nice mix of games, utilities, lifestyle apps and software to enhance your Android experience. We highly recommend most of the apps, but our favourite 5 have to be these:

Shadowgun

An excellent futuristic shooter with brilliant graphics and gameplay, this title will look and feel amazing on phones like the Samsung Galaxy S II, and on capable tablets like the ASUS Transformer Prime.

Soundhound

Soundhound will tell you that catchy song you hear in a club or a shop. Simply open the app, hit record while the music plays and the app cleverly contacts the web to retrieve the song info, including the artist and song title, so you can download it when you get home!

Jamie’s 20 Minute Meals

This app is brilliant if you like to cook. It’s a bit of a hefty download, taking up 110MB of space on your internal storage, but it offers 60 recipes which are displayed in a colourful and easy to read format. There are even 21 instructional videos courtesy of Jamie himself to help you on your way.

Camera Zoom FX

Voted the best camera app for Android by Lifehacker, Camera Zoom FX adds filters, digital zoom, customisation of all hardware buttons and simple 1-click upload to social networks to your camera usage. You can also edit your photos after taking them by adding various colours, filters and effects in the post processing screen. Android’s native camera app is good, but this is excellent.

TuneIn Radio Pro

TuneIn Radio is one of the most popular ways to listen to internet radio on your smartphone, and the Pro version allows you to record while you listen, effectively letting you build up a collection of songs and radio shows to play back offline in the music app on your device. With over 1.2 million programs from 50,000 radio stations worldwide, the cost of 49p makes this app a true bargain.

You can check out all 25 apps for yourself over at the new look Google Play store, and on your Android device. Don’t forget that Google has updated the Android Market to be ‘Play Store’, which is an amalgamation of the Market, Google Music, Google Books and Google Videos.
