The Gadget Helpline’s GAMING WEEKLY is here!

Xbox One S 2TB Model Goes on Sale
This week the first Xbox One S model was released to the public costing £349.99 in 2TB version.
The 40% smaller Xbox One S is ‘sleeker, slimmer, sharper’ than the predecessor and comes capable of outputting 4K Ultra HD video with improved graphic processing. Another new addition is a long awaited inclusion of an internal power supply and backwards compatibility with previous Xbox titles (however as some have already noted certain achievements and digital content is non-transferable – we will look into this claim).additional adapter.
The Xbox One S also comes with a vertical stand – meaning you can stand it up, vertically..
Is it worth the cost? Many believe so, but others are reluctant to buy just for sake of experiencing 4K gaming now. What with the Project Scorpio a year away, this Xbox One is being considered as a stop gap or filler before the main Xbox upgrade arrives in 2017.
A 500GB and 1TB model of the Xbox One S are expected to be released from August 12th, but you can pick up the full fat 2GB model right now.
Warhammer 40,000: Sanctus Reach Announced – Space Wolves vs Orcs
The appeal of Warhammer 40k has endured the decades. From originally being a table-top hobby game released in 1987 to its first foray into video games with Space Hulk in 1993 – the franchise has crossed mediums into next gen consoles and mobile apps.
In actual fact Warhammer titles has infested the gaming market with more ferocity than a Tyranid horde, but there is another on the way and it features one of my favourite armies from a childhood filled with painting and battling – the Space Wolves!
Warhammer 40,000: Sanctus Reach is a turn based strategy game which will be released only on PC in November, and a teaser trailer launched this week whisks us back to those table-top campaigns of yesteryear with space marines, terminators and titans all lined up and ready for action against the fearsome Orks. We love that they all look just like they did during those wars on the kitchen table – you just don’t need the paint skills or over-active imagination to enjoy it!
With so many WH40K games released some can be pretty hit or miss but this one actually looks like a high roller and we’re really looking forward to giving it a blast!
Ever Issue of Nintendo Power Magazine Available to Read Online
Following on from our throwback edition last week we’ve got a real treat for vintage console gamers who want a bit of extra reading – in fact, it’s a lot of extra reading, as Archive.org is now hosting every copy of Nintendo Power magazine ever published, ever!
Starting in 1988, the 285 issue collection, ran thorough Nintendo’s glory days with the NES, Super Nintendo, N64, Gamecube and more covered in almost three decades worth of digitized publications up until Future publishing ceased printing in 2012.
Many favourite titles are featured within them including The Legend of Zelda, Super Mario Kart, Street Fighter II and GoldenEye 64 as well as some of those forgotten gems you might have loved back in the day but buried in your data banks and never thought of since – we’re referring to the likes of Battlefrogs, WWF Super Wrestlemania, Star Wars: Episode One – Pod Racer and Duck Tales (Whoo-oohh).
Check out the full Nintendo Power collection at archive.org.
Finally.. The PokeRock is Back!
After making his official Pokemon Go debut last week, the POKEROCK has been spotted again!
Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson took a cheap pop at the Pokemon Go craze recently by inserting himself into a mock app and employing the tones of the original Pokemon theme song singer Jason Paige to deliver a unique spin on the catchy cartoon tune.
The first time we heard it it was only a sample, but now there’s a full pop culture-referencing and obscenity-filled lyrics version of the tune to be enjoyed on The Rock’s recently launched YouTube channel. But to save you the Googling, we’ve embedded it below. You’re welcome.
