Dark Horse unleash comics app for iPad/iPhone
Drop that boring eBook and listen up fellow geeks! Dark Horse Comics has unleashed a comic reader app at the Chicago Comics & Entertainment Expo, showing off a sample of the action-packed titles which will become available on April 27th – when the app is officially released to the nerd-community online!
The Dark Horse digital app will become available through iTunes for Apple gadgets including iPhone and iPad and will be totally free of charge. Featuring fan-boy friendly titles such as Hellboy, BRPD and Conan – with the first issue of the classic “Hellboy: Seed of Destruction” preloaded on the app – Sweet!
Signing up to the online newsletter at digital.darkhorse.com allows rabid readers to download additional full issues of popular titles Criminal Macabre, Abe Sapien: The Drowning, and Joss Whedon’s Fray for free, with more gifts expected on the way for those who are quick to sign up to the app.
The leader for more edgey and adult-themed titles, Dark Horse revealed their app at C2E2 less than a month after Disney-owned Marvel dropped their own iPad/iPhone app on April 2nd. This news leaves us expecting some exciting competition and a real treat for geeks!
