Bowers & Wilkins Zeppelin Air App for Apple Airplay Devices Goes Live

Bowers & Wilkins, the UK Company behind the absolutely gorgeous Zeppelin iPod Dock Speaker, has come up with a new app for Apple gadgets to help stream music wirelessly to their speakers.

The Bowers & Wilkins Zeppelin Air app, as it is called, is a free download from the Apple App Store and will work with a variety of Apple products including the iPod Touch, iPhone and iPad.

This app will let you play music from your iPad, iPod Touch or iPhone through a B&W Zeppelin Air Dock Speaker using the magic of Apple’s AirPlay technology. Provided your Apple gadget is running on a software version of 4.2 or above, you’ll be able to wirelessly connect your gadget to B&W’s sexy speaker and play your tunes without a cable in sight.

The app isn’t limited to working with B&W products strictly, and will in fact help you to hook up your iDevice to pretty much any type of speaker, dock or Hi-Fi product which has the Apple AirPlay certification.

Once connected to your speaker or system of choice, you’ll be able to stream any song that’s stored on your device. You’ll also be able to connect with friends and others using the same app, and play their shared music through your system. Playlists can be created, edited and shared between several users, meaning everyone can contribute to a party playlist from their respective Apple mobile devices.

The official statement from the company reads: “There are many mobile apps that allow you to stream music, but the Zeppelin Air App is the first of its kind to enable users to share music and create collaborative playlists with friends, from mobile device to mobile device,”

“For nearly five decades, Bowers & Wilkins have been committed to delivering the ultimate music listening experiences. This app takes that commitment to the next level by allowing music fans to share in the Bowers & Wilkins true sound experience with family and friends, in real-time, in a familiar setting.”

Got an iPhone, iPod Touch or iPad and an AirPlay enabled speaker of sorts and fancy giving AirPlay a go? Why not check out this app now; you can download it for free from the Apple App Store.
