Boeing Announces Flight Plans for New Android Smartphone – Take Off Set For Late 2012

With ambitions set high and the destination set for the ever busying mobile market, aviation company Boeing has announced that it too will land hardware on the high streets later this year in the form of it’s own branded Android smartphone.

Confirming the news this past weekend, American aircraft manufacturer Boeing states that its mobile offering will be a lower priced piece of hardware, so Don’t go expecting the 747 of smartphones. But this does suggest that whatever arrives later this year should touch down around the middle-weight class of the Android market, potentially carrying last season’s version of Google’s mobile operating software, 2.3 Gingerbread (as opposed to latest standard 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich).

We’d imagine something of a sizeable smartphone to come from the makers of typically larger hardware, such as passenger aircraft, but Boeing outlines a smaller and thinner device which may be targeted to the business user. Details are few if any, but we’ll keep our eyes to the skies to bring our readers more information of Boeing’s flight plan into new Android territories as soon as available!
