Asus and Acer tablets will be getting Android 3.1

I’m sure you’ll all remember the recent Android 3.1 announcement by Google at their I/O conference, and also the fact that the Motorola Xoom will be the first tablet to get this update.

Well, both Asus and Acer have now confirmed that their respective 10.1-inch tablets will also be getting the update as well.

The Iconia Tab A500 and Eee Pad Transformer will be getting the latest version over-the-air, starting next month.

If you’ve not witnessed the features of Android 3.1 yourself, the latest version improves performance over version 3.0, adding some cool new features such as the ability to stretch widgets and also having USB peripheral support as well.

Now Asus and Acer have made an announcement about their intentions with Android 3.1, let’s hope the various other manufacturers (like LG) will be following suit soon.
