Angry Birds Toons Takes Flight – Available to Watch on Android and Apple iOS Apps Today!

Today is the day that Angry Birds Toons officially lands!

After much rumour and discussion, in late February, Rovio – the Finnish developer of the addictive app game – announced that the Angry Birds animated series will be arriving on the 17th of March. New episodes will become available on a weekly basis with 52 episodes in total for fans of the feathery fellows to look forward to. The Toons are made by the same team that creates the in-between level sequences in the popular Angry Birds apps.

We had originally believed these episodes would be posted on an official website for Angry Birds Toons which went live at the time of announcement, but Rovio since made a further statement revealing that the cartoon will be conveniently available through all Angry Birds game apps for Android and Apple iOS smartphones and tablets (not too convenient for Windows Phone owners, however).

This means if you have downloaded a copy of the original Angry Birds as well as Seasons, Rio, Space and Star Wars spin-offs, you should be able to now find a ‘Toons’ icon on the opening screen of the game allowing you to click and view this week’s animation. Rovio has suggested making sure your app is kept up to date so you don’t miss out!

Episode one of Angry Birds Toons, titled ‘Chuck Time’, features the Yellow and Red Birds and is available through your Angry Birds apps today – Check out a preview below!

At Gadget Helpline we’re delighted to see that our favourite app game is catapulting into yet another media form, but we still await news on the Angry Birds movie, which has been in talks for quite some time and is expected to take the aggravated avians into the realms of computer generated animation. It’s being produced by high-profile Hollywood types who have worked on Marvel / Disney’s Iron Man and Universal Pictures’ Despicable Me.
