Acer Iconia Tab A100 3G tablet: UK price set for £400, available for pre-order now

  • by
Just when you thought it was safe to buy a tablet, another one busts into the market and further confuses your decision. This time it’s Acer, whose 3G-equipped, 7-inch Iconia Tab A100 has just appeared on Amazon with a pretty reasonable pre-order price of £400.

The device, which is set for release on May 14th, boasts Android 3.0 (Honeycomb) and a Tegra 250 Dual core processor, so it’s bang up to standard with it’s Android tablet contemporaries. It also sports two cameras – a 5-Megapixel rear and 2-Megapixel front – as well as 8GB of flash storage and HDMI output.

While £400 may seem a tiny bit steep compared to the larger-screened iPad, it is pretty competitive in the world of Android Honeycomb, especially as it’s got 3G inbuilt. This connectivity may also see the Iconia Tab A100 being offered at a subsidised price through contracts with mobile networks.
